Where Are You Buying Your Follistim?

Last month, I had my first cycle of Follistim. The Texas Fertility Clinic had a couple of brochures from different pharmacies where I could possibly get them from. One of the staff members though mentioned that I could get it at the lowest price at a certain pharmacy.
I also noticed that I got one brochure which was not exactly a pharmacy. Upon further scrutiny, I found out that it was a brochure for a website that offered drug discounts for those who do not have insurance coverage for fertility treatments - DesignRx.
I asked for the fertility medicine prices from different pharmacies involved in the DesignRx program. I got 2 pharmacies that gave me prices for both - with and without DesignRx. The DesignRx discount ranges from 20-40%. Depending on what medicine dosage and combinations you have, this could be a lot of money! As for my prescription, my discount could range from $280 -$650 if I bought them from either of these pharmacies.
Other pharmacies gave me just the DesignRx-discounted prices. Comparison of these prices revealed that there is “not much” difference among the different pharmacies. The delta among different pharmacies under the Design-Rx program is sub-$100. This exercise also confirmed what the Texas Fertility Clinic staff member mentioned as the pharmacy with the lowest price for my fertility medicines.
(The details on fertility medicine prices for which pharmacies are in the - Medicine page. Please take note that these prices could have changed after the data have been collected. It is always good practice to confirm the prices when shopping around/before buying.)
The lesson: Make sure you are enrolled in the DesignRx program - it is free. You will enjoy discounted fertility medicine prices.
If you find out lower prices, let me know!

Hi there,
Again good luck.
My hubby and I had to stop because lack of stimulation on the good side. I’ll see when we can start back. But the expenses will probably end it all. Pray for us, please.

Hi Poohdelta,
I’m sorry to hear you stopped your Follistim cycle also. I just prayed for strength, wisdom and peace to you and your hubby. Keep in touch when you can so I can be reminded to keep praying for you.
Meanwhile, what did your RE say would be the next steps?
Also, what rates did you get for your Follistim and from where?
