Listen to Your Body!!!
Written by Arpee on July 10, 2008 – 10:05 pm -In Monday’s breakthrough bleeding post, I said I was going to listen to my body despite the Saturday advice of one of the Texas Fertility Center’s staff to expect my period a few days AFTER the active Loestrin pills and that I was only breakthrough bleeding.
Afterwards, I googled my question in - how to differentiate the breakthrough bleeding with the real menstrual flow if they overlap? Seems like this question has not been asked. However, what I discovered is that breakthrough bleeding is common with Loestrin (and a lot of the birth control pills) on the first 3 cycles. Somehow, I convinced myself that it was indeed breakthrough bleeding that I had. And that my real flow will just follow after a few days… Read more »

Breakthrough Bleeding, Anyone?

It is my first time (that I am aware of) to experience what I now know as breakthrough bleeding. I started spotting Thursday with 3 active Loestrin pills to go. So I thought my period was going to start anytime during the long weekend. (Didn’t want that to happen because we were going out of town and may have to come back early for an ultrasound.)
On Friday, I had a weak flow so I was a bit confused whether I was having my first day of flow already. I remember though Dr Hansard telling me that flows would be weak when one is under a birth control pill regimen. So I already resigned myself to coming back early from out of town to have an ultrasound done within the 9-10am limited clinic time on Sunday.

CD25: Ultrasound 15 Days Post-Follistim
Written by Arpee on June 26, 2008 – 7:38 pm -Today is the day to get my ultrasound done to see if the birth control pills have decreased the follicles that were stimulated by Follistim. From here, we will know how and when to proceed.

CD22: Waiting…
Written by Arpee on June 23, 2008 – 9:13 am -Well, I am on my 12th day of Loestrin birth control pills.
The good thing is that I feel better with these pills than Femco. I have lesser bloating and sluggishness. I still do feel tenderness in the breasts and some random dull heaviness on the lower front and back pelvis. They are relatively less in intensity though.
