Costs

Infertility treatment costs (or should it be “Fertility treatments“?) are not cheap. The best situation would be if you have insurance coverage for such infertility treatments. However most of us have insurance coverage that only covers the infertility diagnosis, but not the treatment. For some who have no insurance, it could be even worse if they do not have cash to cover for any health services.

I have summarized what our infertility treatment costs so far have been since starting with the Texas Fertility Center. In summary, these are costs on a per “cycle” basis.

TOTAL
COST
REQUIRED
PAYMENT
Baselining
$922
$133
Laparoscopy
$18,126
$1,924
2 Clomid cycles
$1,023
$552
Follistim cycle
$3,036
$1,866+
TOTAL TODATE
$23,108
$4,475+

For the line-item details on these, go to the -Texas FC page. (Also, I will add our fertility treatment expenses in the Idaho Center for Reproductive Medicine later as I get my stuff organized and as time allows.)

I am anticipating that I will need to explore more financing options soon. If you have any experiences and recommendations, would appreciate it if you can leave me a comment. Thanks!
